  • Juwan Thompson rushes for two touchdowns
Juwan Thompson rushed seven times for 24 yards and two touchdowns in Denver's Week 8 win over the Chargers.

Advice: Thompson vultured workhorse Ronnie Hillman for two- and one-yard scores in the second half. The touchdowns were his second and third of the season. Thompson has been running well as a situational hammer, but will likely lose that role upon Montee Ball's (groin) return. Rotoworld.com

Ladarius Green caught his lone target for nine yards in San Diego's Week 8 loss to the Broncos.

Advice: It just isn't happening for the explosive third-year pro, who's been glued to the sideline as Antonio Gates has exploded for six touchdowns over his past four games. Green has seven total targets over the same stretch. Keep Green stashed in Dynasty leagues, but quarantined to the waiver wire in re-draft formats. Rotoworld.com

Eddie Royal caught 3-of-3 targets for 29 yards in San Diego's Week 8 loss to the Broncos.

Advice: Royal's predictable fade from his early-season touchdown surge continues unabated. Royal has just nine total grabs for 138 yards and one score over his past four games. Players looking for 12-14 team league value are going to struggle to find it. Royal will score more touchdowns, but they'll be impossible to predict. Rotoworld.com

  • Malcom Floyd has four-catch evening vs. DEN
Malcom Floyd caught 4-of-7 targets for 58 yards in San Diego's Week 8 loss to the Broncos.

Advice: Floyd used his unreal body control to nearly reel in two more catches on difficult deep targets, but had no shot on his third missed connection, a Philip Rivers pick thrown into double coverage. Floyd briefly left with a shoulder injury, but was quickly deemed probable and returned. Floyd is one of the league's very best deep threats, but it doesn't translate to more than WR4/5 value in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld.com

Wes Welker caught 2-of-2 targets for five yards in Denver's Week 8 win over the Chargers.

Advice: Welker's biggest impact of the night came when he fell on Emmanuel Sanders' fourth-quarter fumble. Welker has now been limited to six grabs for 63 yards and a touchdown over his past three games. We know Peyton Manning likes to get his weapons going after slow stretches, but Welker is shaping up a distant fourth on the Broncos' targets totem pole. He's settling in as a low-upside WR3/4. Julius Thomas caught 2-of-6 targets for 23 yards in Denver's Week 8 win over the Chargers.

Advice: Both the catches and yards were Thomas' fewest of the season. The zero-score effort was also Thomas' second straight after he started off 2014 with nine touchdowns across his first five games. The scoring rate was bound to regress, but Thomas will remain one of the league's very best red-zone threats moving forward. He's a top-three weekly option at tight end. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Thomas failed to score for the first time since Week 3, but both the 100-yard and eight-catch efforts were his fourth straight. Thomas ate up the Chargers' secondary for yards after the catch, but watched Emmanuel Sanders gobble up all the Broncos' primo end-zone looks. Playing the best football of his already excellent career, Thomas would be an All-Pro were the season to end today. Rotoworld.com

  • Branden Oliver totals 63 yards versus Broncos
Branden Oliver rushed 13 times for 36 yards in San Diego's Week 8 loss to the Broncos, adding seven catches for an additional 27 yards.

Advice: Oliver was lucky to escape with the yards that he did, as he simply got gobbled up by the Broncos' athletic front seven. Oliver didn't have a prayer on over half his carries, and was sitting on -3 yards through his first 12 touches. The Broncos were simply getting too much penetration. Oliver's yardage total would have been even less impressive if not for a meaningless 23-yard scamper on the game's final play. Oliver remains a workload monster, but has another tough Week 9 matchup in the Dolphins. Rotoworld.com

  • Solar eclipse: Keenan Allen scores touchdown
Keenan Allen caught 9-of-13 targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers' Week 8 loss to the Broncos.

Advice: The touchdown — as you may have heard — was Allen's first of the season. Allen could have had his second 10-catch effort of the year, but committed a drop. He was also the target on one of Philip Rivers' two interceptions. Allen showed why he was so highly valued in summer drafts, putting on a clinic as a route runner against the Broncos' elite secondary. He'll enter San Diego's Week 9 trip to Miami the owner of a 43/427/1 line on 65 targets. There is WR2 hope still. Rotoworld.com

  • Hillman has bad TD luck, but totals 138 yards
Ronnie Hillman rushed 20 times for 109 yards in the Broncos' Week 8 win over the Chargers, catching 3-of-4 targets for an additional 29 yards.

Advice: The 138 yards from scrimmage were Hillman's most in his three games as starter, but it's his amazingly-bad touchdown luck that will have owners talking on Friday. Hillman had five potential scores wiped away by happenstance and shenanigans. In no particular order, Hillman: Lost a touchdown by stepping out of bounds, had a score wiped out by holding, lost a shot at a goal-line carry thanks to a botched snap and watched Juwan Thompson vulture not one, but two TDs. The good news, if you want to look at it that way, is that Hillman was in position for so many touchdowns, and continues to run circles around the work Montee Ball did before going down with a groin injury. Ball will have a role when he returns, but it's getting harder to believe it won't be as Hillman's caddie. Rotoworld.com

Benny Cunningham was added to the Rams' injury report on Thursday, getting in a limited session with a knee issue.

Advice: It suggests Cunningham tweaked something in Thursday's practice, though it's unclear if that's the case. The Rams are one of the most lightly-covered teams in the league, so we might not gain clarity until Friday's injury report. A "DNP" on Friday would spell doom for Cunningham's Week 8 chances, while another "limited" to go along with a "questionable" tag would be inconclusive. • Sparano: Jones-Drew needs more carries
Raiders interim coach Tony Sparano believes the team needs to get Maurice Jones-Drew more carries.

Advice: We'd argue just the opposite, as a washed-up MJD has averaged a pathetic 2.66 yards on his 18 carries this season. Granted, that's an extremely small sample size, but there's simply no juice left in Jones-Drew's legs. Darren McFadden is the Raiders' best back, while Latavius Murray and FB Marcel Reece are both more deserving of bigger workloads than MJD. It's a mystery why the noncompetitive Raiders have mothballed Murray, their only young runner. Rotoworld.com

"He’s a guy that we feel like at any given moment we can plug in and he can perform," Hamilton said of his rookie wideout. Moncrief is an intriguing talent — and out-snapped Hakeem Nicks 23-19 in Week 7 — but is still a tough sell as anything more than a WR5. He's more of a daily-league dart throw than re-draft option. He could also slap one with the franchise tag. Advice: This doesn't shed any light on Johnson's Week 8 status. He's still very, very questionable to play against the Falcons after not coming close to suiting up against the Saints. The Lions would do well to rest Megatron through the Week 9 bye and then unleash him. Rotoworld.com

  • Trent Richardson brushes off hamstring tweak
Trent Richardson said the hamstring injury he sustained Sunday is a "little tweak, nothing big."

Advice: Richardson sustained the strain in the fourth quarter and didn't return as the Colts had the game in hand. "I was able to still run and move. Coach told me there's no reason to back out there," he said. Before leaving, Richardson looked as impressive as he has in two years, totaling 118 yards on 18 touches. Calvin Johnson (ankle) wasn't particularly close to playing in Sunday's win over the Saints.

Advice: Johnson didn't practice at all last week and was only able to run at about 60 percent in pre-game drills before sitting out warmups. With the bye coming after the Week 8 game in London, it's looking like Megatron won't be back until Week 10. Advice: Welker had a 39-yard catch and run down the left sideline for Peyton Manning's record-tying 508th career touchdown. Demaryius Thomas had eight catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 7 win over the 49ers.

Advice: Thomas was on the receiving end of Peyton Manning's record-breaking touchdown. He was able to take advantage of being matched up with a less than fully healthy Tramaine Brock for most of the game. Thomas beat Perrish Cox deep down the field for his second score. After getting off to a slow start, Thomas has three straight games with at least 120 yards and a touchdown. He should be a top-three option against the Chargers in Week 8. Rotoworld.com

He stayed in for all red-zone situations, with his second touchdown coming from one yard out. Juwan Thompson had just six carries behind Hillman and wasn't used until late in the game. Advice: Floyd also drew a 13-yard defensive pass interference call in the end zone, setting the Bolts up at the one-yard line for their first of two touchdowns. Royal now has just six catches for 109 yards over his past three games, and is predictably fading from his late-September outburst. Advice: The catches, yards and targets were all Allen's second most of the season, but for the seventh time in seven games, he failed to find the end zone. It's worth noting that one of his missed targets came in the painted area, but it wasn't a performance that will have Allen's owners feeling warm and fuzzy moving forward. Philip Rivers is simply doing too good a job of spreading the ball around to his myriad weapons. Allen will be a risky WR3/4 for Thursday's game against the Broncos' tough secondary. Rotoworld.com

Advice: It was another impressive effort from the Sproles-ian rookie, who sustained drives and extended runs with impressive leg drive and unreal balance. Oliver would have gotten more work had the Chiefs not squeezed the life out of the ball, out-possessing San Diego 39 minutes to 21. In three games as the Bolts' feature back, Oliver has racked up 70 touches for 384 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. Advice: Atlanta entered the week having surrendered the fewest fantasy points in the league to tight ends. Daniels got on the Falcons quick, however, tallying a five-yard TD in the first quarter and getting all of his production in the first half. In the old Dennis Pitta role, Daniels offers minimal week-to-week upside but is very much involved under tight end-friendly OC Gary Kubiak. Morris briefly departed before returning to finish out the game. Things could have been even worse, but Morris had a fumble overturned on review. Morris has yet to have a 100-yard game this season, and is averaging a meager 63 yards per week. His last score was in Week 4. The good news is, Dallas' talent-less run defense is on tap for Week 8. It was then Tre Mason on early downs the rest of the afternoon, with Cunningham playing passing downs. Zac Stacy played just one snap. It's unclear if he has a serious pull or the trainers are just playing it safe with the game in hand. Before the injury, Richardson actually looked really spry, repeatedly using the R1 button to juke away from defenders and showing good skills in the pass game. • Juwan Thompson (knee) doesn't practice
Juwan Thompson (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

Advice: Thompson was the No. 2 back behind Ronnie Hillman on Sunday, rushing for 38 yards on eight carries. He was held out last Wednesday with his knee issue. The Broncos are likely just giving him a maintenance day. Rotoworld.com

  • Eric Ebron (hamstring) limited on Wednesday
Eric Ebron (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Advice: It's a new injury for Ebron, but he shouldn't be in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Saints. Ebron played 47-of-70 snaps in Week 6. Rotoworld.com

  • Eddie Royal's injury not 'significant'
Eddie Royal's ribs ailment is not considered "significant."

Advice: According to the Union-Tribune San Diego, Royal could miss "little, if any, time." That still leaves his Week 7 status a little murky, but it will be updated when the Bolts return to practice on Wednesday. Rotoworld.com

  • Julio Jones have soreness in left foot
Julio Jones was spotted "slowly dragging his left foot" as he left the locker room Monday afternoon.

Advice: Thankfully, this is not the foot that Jones has had two surgeries on since 2011. It stems from a tweak sustained during the Week 4 loss at Minnesota and he's displayed his usual speed/explosion since then. Jones will likely be limited in practice this week before suiting up as a top-five option at Baltimore Sunday. Rotoworld.com

  • Cunningham scores one-yard TD in MNF loss
Benny Cunningham rushed for 21 yards and one touchdown on seven carries in the Rams' Week 6 loss to the 49ers.

Advice: Cunningham was the second back in the game behind Zac Stacy, as usual, and he got the lone goal-line carry for the Rams and punched it in from one yard away to kick off the game's scoring. Carries were split 8-7-5 to Stacy, Cunningham, and rookie Tre Mason, respectively. This could turn into a full-blown committee. It was clear watching Monday's game that Mason has the most talent.
