    Bucs waived DE Scott Solomon.

Advice: DE T.J. Fatinikun has been promoted from the practice squad in a corresponding roster move. Solomon was active for each of the Bucs' first six games, notching a sack as he played 177 snaps. Going on 26, he'll search for reserve work. Rotoworld.com

  • Redskins officially send Brian Orakpo to I.R.
Redskins placed OLB Brian Orakpo on injured reserve with a torn right pectoral, ending his season.

Advice: OLB Everette Brown has been signed in a corresponding roster move. The torn pec is the third of Orakpo's career, though the first two were to his left side. Either way, it's an ominous way for the 28-year-old pass rusher to head into free agency. Orakpo will be an unrestricted free agent after playing under the franchise tag this season. He'll have missed 24 of his past 48 games once the season is through. It's quite possible 'Rak has played his final down for the Redskins. Rotoworld.com

But the league office is considering lowering the ban by one or two games, which surely would infuriate the Rams (Week 9 opponent) and Saints (Week 10). • Whaley thought Brown had star potential
Bills GM Doug Whaley traded for Bryce Brown because he felt the former Eagle had the potential to be a star.

Advice: Whaley gave up a fourth-round pick to get Brown this summer, relatively steep compensation by NFL standards. Note that Brown was the unquestioned No. 1 high school player in the country coming out, getting compared to Reggie Bush by Lane Kiffin. He has 4.48 speed at 6'0/220 and is excellent in the pass game. As the Buffalo News speculates, Brown will at worst be a "co-feature back" with Anthony Dixon while Fred Jackson (groin) is out. He's a plug-n-play RB2 with potential to stick in the C.J. Spiller role even once F-Jax returns. Just note that the Bills face the Jets' rugged run defense this week and then have a bye in Week 9. The earliest he'll return is likely Week 10, as the Saints play on Thursday night in Week 9. It opens up a nice window for Khiry Robinson to get a bump in snaps and Travaris Cadet to get on the PPR radar. Wheaton simply may not be very good. Rookie WR Martavis Bryant made his NFL debut against Houston and caught a 35-yard touchdown on five targets. Martavis Bryant caught a 35-yard touchdown in the Steelers' Week 7 win over the Texans on Monday night.

Advice: Making his NFL debut, the fourth-round pick out of Clemson drew five targets -- good for third on the team behind Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell -- and roasted CB Andre Hal on an in-and-out double-move up the right side for the touchdown. Ben Roethlisberger tried to hit Bryant deep a couple other times with no success. Still, Bryant played a healthy amount of snaps and could be making a move on Markus Wheaton for No. 2 duties. Advice: He'll undergo surgery, and be replaced in the starting lineup by Trent Murphy. It's the third torn pectoral of Orakpo's career, although the first two were on his left side. Yet once again, a terrible Redskins defense in desperate need of playmakers is robbed of one. Orakpo had 12 quarterback hurries, six hits and one sack through seven games, also playing strong run defense. He'll enter free agency this spring as a high-risk, high-reward asset. When asked about Bryce Brown, Fred Jackson said he's "an every-down back."

Advice: "We won't miss a beat," Jackson said. Although Anthony Dixon is under the impression he'll be a workhorse now, he's more likely to stick in a big back and special teams role while serving as the complement. Brown struggled with fumbles and bouncing too many runs outside as an Eagle, but is excellent in the pass game and has serious juice in his legs. On 190 career NFL carries, he's produced 878 yards (4.62 YPC) and six touchdowns. With C.J. Spiller out for the season and F-Jax sidelined as much as a month, Brown is a plug-n-play RB2. The Bills traded a fourth-round pick to acquire Brown this offseason. It's fair to wonder if they're regretting that decision now. Heath Miller caught 2-of-4 targets for 19 yards in Pittsburgh's Week 6 loss to the Browns.

Advice: The two catches were Miller's fewest of the season, while he's now scored in just 1-of-6 games. Miller is on pace for a reasonable 69 catches and 699 yards, but he's getting harder to sell as a TE1. The Steelers need to involve Miller more in the red zone, where they've been abysmal all season. • Markus Wheaton held to four catches vs. CLE
Markus Wheaton caught 4-of-11 targets for 33 yards in Pittsburgh's Week 6 loss to the Browns.

Advice: It was a brutally inefficient day from a No. 2 receiver who's now failed to clear 40 yards in 4-of-6 games. One of Wheaton's missed connections was a catchable pass in the end zone that he couldn't quite haul in. Not racking up catches or scoring touchdowns, Wheaton is trending toward every-week WR5 status in standard leagues. He's more passable as a WR4 in PPR formats, but not by much. Rotoworld.com

  • Glennon throws for 314 yards, 2 TDs in loss
Mike Glennon completed 24-of-44 passes for 314 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Bucs' 48-17, Week 6 blowout loss the Ravens.

Advice: Glennon was sacked five times and hit another handful of times as the Tampa line proved once again it can't block anyone. The offense couldn't get anything going until the scoreboard read 38-0 early in the second quarter. With the Ravens playing soft defense after the break, Glennon and the Bucs padded their stats. Glennon's two scores went to Mike Evans and Louis Murphy. The Bucs head into their bye week before hosting the Vikings in Week 8. It's unclear if Glennon or Josh McCown (thumb) will get that start.
