  • Alright gentlemen - the lockout has been lifted and the 2011 NFL Season is quickly approaching. To that end, we've got to start getting the pieces in place to make this year rock. The first order of business is figuring out the keepers. One of the complaints we had last year was that determining who your keeper is was a bit complicated, so this year we will simplify the process. So here are the keeper rules:
    1) You can keep any player drafted in the 5th round or later of the 2010 draft only (and they could not have been a keeper last year). Your keeper must have been on your team at the end of the 2010 season
    (Check your 2010 roster here: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/wderumble/2010)

    2) The "fee" for selecting a keeper is that you will "select" them 2 rounds higher then where they were drafted (i.e. if you drafted someone in the 5th, they would be a 3rd rounder this year).

    If you select a keeper that was undrafted last year, you will "select" them 2 round higher than the last spot on your roster (so in a 20 round draft, you would keep your guy in the 18th round)

    3) For the first time you can actually trade your keeper for another team's draft pick. For example, I could actually trade Arian Foster (my keeper this year) for another team's draft pick . You can trade your keeper for ANY draft pick but you must send an email to wdespn@gmail.com informing the league of the trade. The trade will be announced on the message board and wdespn.com

    All keepers must be submitted to wdespn@gmail.com by August 5th. If you have any questions, let me know.
